the reed home made {lovely}

this is my laundry.
bummer or blessing?
i am gonna choose to look at it with a grateful heart today.
we have more than enough clothing (clearly).
i have a washing machine that works.
that might not always be the case.
so today i choose to say,
"thank you Lord, for my laundry!"

and to see the rest of my house,

come on by heather's today!

i'm trying...

i'm trying to be better at keeping my closet organized.

 a place where i can see what i have to wear.

it's hard.

i don't like doing it.

but when i do, i realize i have a lot more options than i think.

that makes me be less of a random unnecessary clothes buyer.

look at this rainbow.

then i pull out something i haven't seen in a while and it's way better than i remembered....

(all i need is some accessories)

well, on a lovely (hot) trip to the flea market on sunday, i found her long lost brother.

i wasn't looking for him.

and maybe i should have been since my sweet little ty is always trying to sit on the red one and he has to get down.

 that one is sorta ella's since she is the smallest and needs stools more,

but really there is only a few inches  of difference between them....

so.....

i found him one!

and i gotta say, it's exactly the same stool.

with different paint, but still.

here he is....

he inspired a little photo shoot with the owners of the stools, of course

be warned, they were in rare form....

i know. i know. what in the world?

now he we just need to pick a number for me to put on it.

he's thinking 8.

(which is the age jake is turning and therefore ty's favorite number)

i'm thinking 6.

also, don't you think it'd be lovely if my kitchen had this now?

so the kids can eat cereal on their stools at the bar part (on the other side)

yah, i am dreaming of that.

i am getting myself together.

i've had one whole week away from my job.

you know that place where, you have no idea where to start because it seems like more than you can ever do, so you just do a blog post?

yep.

that's me right now.

now, don't get me wrong, i am so well taken care of!

i got to visit with my sisters, hang out with a dear friend, snuggle and take walks with reedo, and then i came home to my sweet sweet mother in law who had seriously held down the fort for me in a BIG way.

not the kind of "hold down the fort" where you look around and just thank God that every one is still alive, the kind where my laundry is folded and the kids have eaten veggies all week....yah, not. too. shabby.

i am so thankful for that break!

i have (around) a bazzilion pictures to share, but i need to download them and edit them still....

so for now, i will share this music video of my amazingly talented sister gracie girl.

i got to listen to her sweet voice for a whole week and now i am listening to this over and over because i just can't get enough.

she is such a treasure.

really.

she makes my life better.

i couldn't love anyone more.

if she's not lovely, i don't know what is....

first of all, wanta see what my kids see me as lots of the day?

yah, i look so super friendly, huh?

i simply love ella's bathing suit this year.

wish they made it in my size.

somehow i think my legs might look a little....different than that.

i also tried braiding a strip of fabric into her hair this weekend and it turned out so sweet!

i tied mine with the same kind of strip, twice(way easier) and we got our pictures taken by Jake.

then i sad goodbye to those little rascals and took saturday afternoon off....yessssssss.

i went to the mission.(my fav)

i brought a book and my ipod.

this is me in a little bell corner.

i stayed there for about an hour.

i had a strapless dress on.

i  was not naked at the mission.

(sorry reedo, i know you think that'd be awesome.)

see? that's my spot.

right where my purse was sitting.

i listened to Tim Janis.

it's dramatic instrumental music.

then i headed over to the old barn and saw some beauties.....

but no purchasing.

just looking and relaxing and dreaming...

pretty lovely, huh?

7 (lovely) random things

1.i have a new project.

a new bed for ella.

i have some pretty great ideas...keep a look out for happy, little girl, splendor on this little reed life blog!

         

2. this is my camera.

a canon rebel T1i from costco: Christmas 2009

with the 50mm lens on my sidebar.

and a custom (stained) strap cover.

and a lost lens cap (don't worry joy, i will get another today...and the UV filter too).

3. i love reading.

4. i am wearing a side ponytail today.

5. i used to be a floral designer.

(i have been thinking about adding a little series on simple things to do with flowers on the reed life? whatdoyathink? would that be fun and useful? is there anything specific that anyone is curious about, that i can help with?)

6. my maiden name is laxson....just fyi.

7. one of the biggest things i grown in this year is not to always jump to conclusions from prior assumptions.

yah. 

pretty big. 

and i am still learning. 

but i feel like blogging has had a pretty big hand in that lesson.

i think a year ago i would have thought that online interactions were sorta questionable and less than desirable.

but God has opened my little "know it all" eyes up....like He does.

he shows me how he will ALWAYS provide for me.

and usually He uses ways that i don't expect.

liiiiike the internet.

WHY couldn't he allow me to make a friend thought the computer?!

HOW could i think that His ways are limited to face to face friendship for encouragement (not that i don't need that too :)

is ANYTHING too hard for HIM?

i have been blessed by this blog this year.

that means you. 

yah, you sitting at your computer right now....oh wait, is that your phone?

you better not be reading your iphone while driving! (i NEVER seldom do that!)
