sometimes...

...sometimes i feel like all i do is help my kids with homework and pick up after them and then snap at them.
i walk from one side of my house to the other as crumbs from breakfast stick to my bare feet and i feel like i wanta scream.

then i remember who i am and that i have a safe home and freedom and a healthy family and i feel bad for being such a baby.

  1. Yes, I feel like the crumb trail is endless.
I'm glad to know I am not the only baby around here.
    You make me smile.

  2. oh gosh, i can so relate. it's not even funny.
and just as soon as i get those crumbs cleaned up then it's time for
snack or dinner and it get's back to the way it was before. sheesh.

and you're so right, i need to stop being such a baby about it and
be grateful for what has been given to me.

and as a side note, couldn't homework time be just a tad bit easier on us mothers?! :)

  3. empathy from me hardcore mama!
today at mops we had to pick a word that described our last month.
    i chose challenged.
it fit perfectly with my role in motherhood as of late.
    thanks for sharing your heart!

  4. it's hard being a mom, the day to day stuff can really wear
a person down. don't apologize for being human.
Right now, I am trying not to let the little things upset me, I have
far bigger things to worry about right now.
My husband is going to start chemo/radiation next week,
so I know what you mean about not being a baby for sure.
but don't be too hard on yourself either.
    much love,
    tara

  5. Well, that's how God reminds us to be thankful. At least in your case, it worked. He is smiling down at you.

  6. i am an elementary school teacher in a school where most of the parents aren't parents who "just" help their kids with homework, pick up after them, and snap at them... because they don't spend time with their kids. (often because they can't.) and there aren't breakfast crumbs on the floor because the kids eat breakfast at school. your kids are better off for all those things :)
