The Reeds just got "Resurrection eggs".
each of the 12 eggs has a tiny symbol (a nail, a piece of linen, a stone...) that helps to tell the real story of Easter. Today we shoved aside all the donuts and bunnies and colored grass, and talked about the story of Jesus death and triumph over hell! crazy huh? all this with a 4 and 6 year old. But this little egg kit really was amazing and told them all they needed to know and helped them attach to the story through touch.

The Easter Package
A very special package arrived at our house yesterday. When Jake, Ty and Ella see these packages, they now just KNOW that they are going to be full of pure joy. Packing peanuts, reasons to cut tape, Easter baskets, glowing wand/swords/light sabor thingys, CANDY, stuffed "guys", stickers, PEEPS.....I am telling you PURE REED KID JOY! On top of it all, they now remember that I tend to just let them just have a free for all when it arrives since it is from thier special grandma and grandpa. I let them eat alot of it in the moment since this is not the norm and I feel like it's fine for them to overdose on sugar a few times a year...what the heck!
SOOOOOO, A great big "thank you" to Grandpa Ron and Grandma Penny for ALLLLLL the treats!
Not sure why have a need to show this. Maybe to remind you that my life isn't all sunshine and sandcastles. I do stoop to taking a picture of my daughter in the middle of her torment. If you feel like you suck today, just remember that I do too and I document it...so maybe I am worse than you....be comforted.

Still going with with my "5am Commitment"!
"It comes the very moment you wake up each morning. All your wishes and hopes for the day rush at you like wild animals. And the first job each morning consists simply in shoving them back: in listening to that other voice, taking that other point of view, letting that other, larger, stronger, quieter life come flowing in."
C.S.Lewis
hey guess what?!
My pal Leslie referred me to a cool new(to me) website where there are a series of posts addressing us finding time for the things that are our priorities. Lot's of inspiring quotes and ideas for how to address confusion in your life on what you should be doing. I included one of my favorite C.S. Lewis quotes that the blog had, but you should check out this blog and this series!
suziebeezieland: shopping for time, part 6 of 6
"The great thing, if one can, is to stop regarding all the unpleasant things as interruptions of ones 'own' or 'real' life. The truth is of course that what one calls the interruptions are precisely one's real life -- the life God is sending one day by day: what one calls one's 'real life' is a phantom of one's own imagination. This is at least what I see at moments of insight: but it's hard to remember it all the time."
